
As part of strengthening cultural ties and martial arts relations between the State of Kuwait and Japan, a delegation from the International Federation of Kyokushin (IFK) – Kuwait Branch had the honor of visiting the residence of the Japanese Ambassador to Kuwait, in response to a kind invitation from His Excellency Ambassador Kenichiro Mukai. The visit included an honorary luncheon held in recognition of Shihan Akira Masuda, one of Kyokushin’s leading figures and a pioneer in spreading its authentic principles.
Representing the Embassy of Japan, the following officials attended:

- Mr. Koji Hamada, Consul and First Secretary
- Ms. Ayana Hashizumi, Second Secretary

Representing the IFK – Kuwait Branch delegation, the following attended:
- Shihan Akira Masuda, one of Kyokushin’s leading figures and a pioneer in spreading its authentic principles

- Shihan Bader Al-Bisher, Board Member and Secretary-General
- Mr. Randy Tomiwa, Representative of the Musashi Project (Indonesia)
The delegation expressed its sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the Ambassador and the entire diplomatic staff for their warm welcome and generous hospitality. They also commended the Embassy’s interest in supporting friendship and cooperation between the Kuwaiti and Japanese peoples, and in highlighting martial arts as a cultural bridge that connects nations.
During the meeting, the delegation delivered a brief presentation on the Kuwait Branch’s activities, showcasing key achievements and initiatives. They also explained the purpose of the international camp led by Shihan Masuda, which aims to develop technical capabilities and deepen understanding of traditional Japanese martial philosophy.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation renewed its profound thanks to His Excellency the Ambassador and the esteemed Embassy staff for their gracious hosting and kind reception, and expressed its aspiration for further fruitful cooperation in service of martial arts and cultural exchange between the two friendly countries.
